What initially started as a studio-project in 2016 involving original guitarist/producer Joshua Engle and original bassist Tyler Krepps quickly became a full-fledged band by 2018 with the addition of original Vocalist Jesus Cedano, rhythm guitarist/vocalist Khaynen Alwine and drummer Bobby Hoechner.

The debut EP (Soul Stasis) was written, recorded and produced at Josh Engle’s home studio in Liverpool, PA (Native Studios), between 2016 and 2018. Officially formed in June 2018, we had several band names on the table before we settled on “Illusion of Solace.” Officially announcing the band in October 2018 with the release of our debut song ‘Soul Stasis”.

As the production for the EP wrapped up in February 2019, vocalist Jesus Cedano had to step away from the band for personal reasons, but his vocals are featured on the EP along with former guitarist/vocalist Khaynen Alwine contributing some clean vocals and screams on several tracks. 

The next 2 years saw several member changes within the band (the addition of vocalist Charley Horning and Guitarist Will Perez) and the exit of Khaynen Alwine and Tyler Krepps.

Recording for EP #2 commenced in summer 2020 with vocalist Charley Horning. Originally planning on a 6 song EP, 5 songs were finished before Charley unfortunately had to step away from the band for health reasons.

We went forward and released 4 songs featuring Charley on vocals, and worked with vocalist Aaron Ursino from 2021-2023, releasing songs ‘Conflictions’ and ‘Bitter Taste.’ During this time, bassist Chris Wind joined the band in 2022.

All of the releases that followed continued to be recorded and produced with Joshua Engle at the helm until his departure from the band in 2024.
